Missing Teeth

Single or many, talk to us about how you can regain the confidence to smile.

Modern dentistry does not remove teeth unless the tooth is completely unrestorable or the treatment required is unaffordable for the patient. Our goal is to preserve your teeth for a lifetime where possible, as missing teeth often leads to further complications.

If you do have a missing tooth, there are many options available to replace it, or them. These include:

  • Implants – single or multiple tooth replacement
  • Dentures – full or partial replacements
  • Bridges – bridging the gap created by one or more missing teeth.

Bridges are often the most preferable option, ensuring the remaining teeth will stay in their correct space, rather than moving into the gap created.

When discussing the replacement options for missing teeth, we will always explain carefully and thoroughly all of the options in great detail. We work to ensure all of our patients provide well-informed consent and fully understand what each treatment consists of and the costs associated.

Just because you may not be able to see a missing tooth at the back of your mouth, doesn’t mean that don’t need to have it assessed or replaced.  Issues can include:

  • Strain caused to the teeth surrounding the missing tooth
  • Strain caused to teeth on the opposite of the mouth as the patient may favour the other side
  • Teeth should rest against each other.  If a tooth is missing, the structure is damaged and other teeth may fall into the space.
  • The top opposing tooth can grow further down and into the space below
  • Tooth decay, sensitivity, pain and difficulty cleaning can result from missing teeth.
Free Consultation

Terms and Conditions

A Free Initial Consultation at Martin Vale Dentistry is the waiving of the fee usually applied to an initial consultation appointment. During an initial consult, we assess your dental concerns, identify any risks attributed to your current dental conditions and provide advice and recommendations of what action (if any) should be taken. Where suitable we may provide photographs or additional printed information for reference. This value of an Initial Consultation is the equivalent of the standard fee for a consultative appointment, which ranges between $60 and $90.

Free Initial Consultations do not include radiographs of the teeth or associates structures. This process can be undertaken at your request, with applicable fees quoted for your approval, and payment required at the time of appointment.

Initial consultations can vary in duration depending on each patient’s needs and concerns, ranging from 15 to 45 minutes, at the discretion of our Dental team.  We are committed to answering all of your questions, and providing easy to understand, efficient and effective advice on the option available to you, and costs applicable.

The ongoing provision of Free Initial Consultations is at the discretion of Martin Vale Dentistry.
