Dr Martin Vale successfully treats sleep apnea with the non-invasive, comfortable SomnoDent device.

Sleep Apnea is when the muscles in the back of your throat relax and interfering with your breathing while you sleep. Left untreated, Sleep Apnea can have serious and life threatening consequences.

In addition to the number of health complications experienced, people with Sleep Apnea are two and a half times more likely to have a car accident, and twice as likely to have a workplace accident caused by fatigue and loss on concentration.  Young people are 17 times more likely to die from an accident that is caused by loss of concentration.

Partners and spouses of people will Sleep Apnea can also be diagnosed as suffering from sleep deprivation and fatigue.  Failing relationship from this strain is also recognised.
Sleep Apnea causes breathing stoppages. Most of the time, you won’t be mentally aware of breathing stoppages, however your body is.  Signs to look for are:
  • Choke or gasp for air during your sleep
  • Wake up tired
  • Snore
  • Have poor memory or forgetfulness
  • Multiple nighttime bathroom trips
  • Have headaches in the morning
Treating Sleep Apnea
Dr. Martin Vale has been treating Sleep Apnea for many years, and uses the SomnoDent device for suitable patients.  SomnoDent is less invasive and less noisy than other typical treatments, and involves a sleep study to assess suitability prior to use. SomnoDent is an Australian invention and the world’s leading oral appliance for obstructive Sleep Apnea.

SomnoDent is an oral Sleep Apnea appliance used to treat the condition by opening your airway. It consists of two dental plates, which look similar to a sports mouth guard. Using a titration key, the SomnoDent can be gradually adjusted to bring your lower jaw forward, opening up your airway.
Treatment is painless and non-invasive.

Your SomnoDent device is custom made to fit your mouth and should be worn at night whilst you are sleeping. The therapy is reversible and can be used in conjunction with other treatment modalities.
